Nature and landscape photography

Nature photography is one of the best ways to create an appreciation of nature, whether that nature photography is flowers, landscapes or animals.
But natural landscape is not the only kind of landscape available. There is also urban landscape which deals with the photography of buildings and the urban jungle. Natural landscape has a wider variety and it entails mountain tops, shots of lightning streaking down from the sky, tumbling waterfalls, roiling seas and densely packed green foliage from the middle of a rain forest. Many of this kinds of landscape photography have become boring because too many photographers are doing it. In fact you may have probably taken photos of hills and waterfalls. As a beginner it is always wise to practice your photography at home where you can take photos of your backyard.

Try differing backgrounds in your nature photography. If you have nothing in the background, context is hard to determine. Too much in the background, though, will detract from the main focus of your nature photography. However, by zooming in closer, the background will become softer. Your main focus, then, will stand out in sharp relief.

Nature or wildlife photography focuses on taking pictures of animals and plant life. It documents creatures that live in the wild, from accessible creatures like those in your backyard, to giraffes and lions . Often, the most interesting shots are of animals in their natural habitats, engaging in some activity; eating, hunting, fighting.
